The Index of Services Production

Every month, India publishes a number for how much steel, cement, and electricity the economy produced via IIP (Index of Industrial Production).
Until this week, no equivalent number existed for banking, insurance, retail trade, logistics, or IT services - despite the fact that these industries now generate more of India's income than manufacturing does.
