Subbu's Solution

Considering that the market is mostly driven by technicals and FIIs, don't you think you could have earned more profits for through short-term trading in the recent past? - James
Dear James, here’s our take: Some investors are good at fundamentals and some are good at technicals. We believe we fall in the former category, making investing choices through fundamental analysis. However there are also some investors who are good at technicals.

We have never really promoted short term trading because it brings in lot of reinvestment risk. Every trade has to be successful for the overall investment strategy to work. So, if there are ten trades and if the tenth trade results in a -90% loss, you would loose significantly, even though the first nine trades were successful.
